How do digital storytelling workshops expand your community?

Communication is undergoing tremendous change where sight and sound, the traditional tools of the professional filmmaker, are now being used by everyone. Thoughtful, and emotionally directed good writing has always been the source of great filmmaking. Now, your community can learn what makes a brilliant work of film art, and also learn how to apply those tools to their own digital video stories.

We assist people of all ages in using the tools of digital media to craft, record, share – to bridge the cultural divide – to elevate the stories of individuals and communities – in ways that improve their lives.

Many individuals and communities have used the term "digital storytelling" to describe a wide variety of new media production practices. What best describes our approach is its emphasis on personal voice and facilitative teaching methods. We will link our workshop content to the films in your exhibition program, and provide a teaching model directly connected to images collected in their own personal life's journey. We will use the model created by Joe Lambert who founded the Center for Digital Story Telling in Berkeley California.

We will provide a minimum of three, 3-day workshops that will be directed to separate and distinct voices from your community. For example we could create a workshop for artists, seniors, and Latinos; or teachers, medical professionals, and the lesbian/gay community. Everyone has a special story to tell. We’ll help your community use digital technology and personal discovery to help them tell theirs.
